Hello to all

I know a little about small engines but am abit miffed with this problem.

Have a 25hp Evenrude 70s model that ran great last fall. put it on sstand today to run it and no go. I have good spark and the plugs are getting wet so it mis getting gas. I cant even get it to fire or pop. I must be missing something but dont know what? Thought it may be the kill switch but not as I diconected it.
Please help if you can.

Thanks...Kevin

Have you got spark under compression? Just spark when grounded doesn't mean you have good spark.

You have good plugs or new plugs?

There is a huge difference, 2 strokes are really picky, if your plugs aren't new then get some and try that.

Had a dirt bike, wouldn't start, cleaned the plugs and drug it for 1/2 mile behind a car, not a lick, got new plugs started first kick, can't tell by looking.

DON'T start changing stuff, Kevin. Find out what is wrong, then fix that.

Engine FAQs, "Outboard won't start".

Let us know what you find.

JB

Plugs removed and connected to wires create good spark against engine block. Will trouble shoot using your list.

Thanks much
