Turn clockwise until TDC mark is about 1" AFTER the pointer, install the piston stopper, bolt or whatever.
Carefully wiggle the flywheel, and make a mark when piston is in contact with stopper.
Turn almost 1 turn, clockwise, until piston hits the stopper on its way up.
Make a new mark.
Make a 3d mark in the middle between the 2 marks, remove the stopper and lign up the flywheel to the center mark.
This should be TDC.
Then move the pointer until it aligns with the TDC mark on flywheel.
