Can anyone help me with Fel Pro one piece rubber gasket part numbers? My Googling isn't leading me to confidence in ordering...

Fel Pro 17983 is listed in the marine catalog
Fel Pro OS 34510 T looks to be right for automotive

for an oilpan, how does the gasket know if its in a boat or a car?

marine gaskets are needed for the headgaskets. all else is same across cars, trucks, boats, stump grinders, generators and fork lifts

Baby steps, got the motor out last weekend. Have a one piece pan gasket ready. Having second thoughts on flipping it over though, never done that.

Put it on an engine stand

Drain the oil and water out of the block, and tip away. Put some cardboard down under the area, it'll drip some fuel and stuff. It won't hurt it a bit. Also on the motor stand, grease the pivot point, they turn hard if not lubed up.

Cg of motor is about 4" above the crank without the exhaust manifolds and about 5" above the crank with the manifolds

Agree with Grub on lubing the main pivot
