Recently re-powered from 1989 175 to 1994 225, is the 225 going to runner warmer than my 175 did?? I ran it it at the lake for the first time this weekend and seemed to run alot warmer that my crossflow did. This is according to my gauge which is a an OMC w/ the green and red range..no degrees. The alarm never sounded or when into SLOW mode. Im wondering if its time for a deflector job or its just that engines character?

Re: 225 RUNNING TEMP

The '93 and later 200-225 V-6s have a different block and cooling system than other motors. The thermostats affect the high speed operation of the engine, thus running a warmer temp than other outboards.
