Hi my name is Danny, live in Waukesha, WI. i just recently got a 1976 silerline with a cuddy cabin. the outside of the boat is not too bad for its age, the inside had been water logged, and was half gutted by the p.o. after a little debate of how i should make the boat water-worthy again i decided to finish gutting the interior. after about a day of working and a few hours on this awesome website! ive got most of the floor up. about 800 lbs of soaking wet foam came out and way too much rotten wood.
which brings me to where im at now, ive started to get some new wood for the stringers and the floor and i would like to know whats the best way to protect the new wood? i figure for the stringer ill try to do a full wrap in fiberglass but dont know how i would protect the plywood. i would also like to know if i need to put foam back in? thanks for any help, pictures as well as more questions to come soon!
