Howdy. Would a 2016 Merc 60hp be strong enough to handle a 1992 Starcraft SFM 170. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Is that a 17 foot aluminum runabout? If so, and you don't overload it, it will plane and a bit more, I would think.

What is max power rating?

Rated for ?? 75 hp ?? right?

A 60 will work , if propped right, should get you up on plane and across the lake, Don't expect a lot of speed.
