I have gutted my boat and have put it all back together with new stringers and such. I am curious on the flotation foam and if I can put boat in the water without it. I will use it once my bank account recovers from the rest of the project lol. Bad idea. Good idea?

Replace the foam, it's not there for just flotation, it's also used to stiffen the hull

I used two 16-lb kits of 2-lb density foam on my 19 ft boat restoration. That's under $200...surely a drop in the bucket relative to the rest of the money you spent on the restoration. I agree with AD - just go ahead and do it.

Definitely the cheapest portion yet...I didn't realize it was that cheap I assumed like everything else it would be pricey
