We just purchased a 2024 PB16 from Bass Pro. While it is brand new, I do (eventually?) want to make a few modifications and wondered if anyone else was researching options.

First, I installed a Vessel View mobile module in the Mercury 50HP engine. I can use my phone to monitor data, but was thinking about developing a module myself that will receive this data and drive either virtual gauges or a set of analog gauges mounted in the dash. I am having trouble determining the protocol the VesselView mobile uses.

Second, the placement of the fuel tank on the rear 10" wide deck is ridiculous and makes docking really difficult. I was trying to look for options and was thinking about a bolted on ~15 gallon tank or one that can be installed in the aluminum enclosure just in front of the engine (the structure the engine is mounted to). But that area does get very wet...maybe not a great place for a fuel tank.

The steering is incredibly tight. I need to find out if that can be loosened up.

Also, the captain's chair is very difficult to swivel. Would like to loosen that as well.

I really, really like the boat ...and the size. There's just a handful of things I would like different. Any feedback would be truly appreciated!!

It’s a proprietary CAN based protocol.

Easier to switch over to NMEA 2000 to utilize the large variety of plug and play displays and components available. Can interface to most fish finders, chartplotter etc. to display engine data on the screen
