2021 Nascar - Race #3, Homestead

For the second year, the Homestead race is earlier in the schedule instead a season-ending championship race. Trucks are off this weekend, with X-Men on Saturday and Cup on Sunday. The weather looks good with no rain in the forecast. Here is the MRN schedule;

• The Nascar formula has put Hamlin and Joey on the front row to start Sunday's race.
• Steve Letarte is back on the box as acting Crew Chief for Corey LaJoie. The #7 has 3 crew members under COVID restriction including CC Ryan Sparks.
• Some race tracks and other sports venues are replacing flat cardboard cutouts with real people and slowly increasing attendance maximums.

• Bristol Dirty Race Facts - Cup and Truck practice on Friday and 4 15 lap heat races on Saturday to set the starting grids. Short on details, but this happens in a month.
• Penalty report - 2 Cup cars had loose or missing lugnuts. Also Chip Ganassi has been fined $30K and suspended at Homestead for violating COVID-19 protocol - to whit; “for bringing into the competition area a non-essential individual that was restricted from the footprint.”
• TV ratings - Less viewers than last year's 2nd race at Vegas and after Newman's Daytona wreck;

Watched the last 20 laps or so. Saw that wreck, looked like the other car had a tire go down as fast as he went up the track.

Lost my stream at the start of OT. Switched to feed #2 and watched but no sound. The Dinger made a great save on the 1st restart.
