Ty Gibb wins #2 this year. He won on Daytona road course in February.

Indy 500 is doing opening ceremonies to a full house. Really nice anthem!

In Cup, tech inspection was before qualifying yesterday with no issues and cars were impounded after. So barring the "unapproved adjustment" bugaboo, no cars are going to the rear.

A guy crashed on pit lane after locking the rear and hitting the pit wall. All this while most of the cars were pitting for the first time today. Somehow they all avoided him.

The pits have been involved in every incident today. From wheels not bolted on to spins in pit lane.

I love heat racing so much that they have add one more to make the race take more time. 🤦‍♂️

Indy car managed to have non-stop racing on the tube except for cautions. 4 hours, 34 minutes and 29 seconds is the estimate for the Coke 600. The Indy 500 took about 3 hours and 40 minutes.

FYI - Cup cars are slower than X-Cars at Charlotte because Nascar thinks slower cars will attract more brands to Cup. TV ratings will be interesting to compare for Cup and Indy.

Two cars to the rear for unapproved adjustments - Busch1 and Mcleod.

Busch said a small piece broke on the #1 during qualifying and Nascar told them to replace it. That sounds like an approved adjustment to me.

The green flag dropped and Larson leads. Elliott in 2nd place.

Larson leads the first 20 laps, a second ahead of Elliott.

Only 19 cars on the lead lap. 35 laps left in the heat and Larson leads Elliott by almost 2 seconds. I hate these 1.5 mile tracks!

Larson wins the 1st of 4 heats by 1.6 seconds over Elliott. Only 18 cars on the lead lap. No cautions.

iFL note - Even through there are 4 heats, no points are scored for 3rd heat, but the garage locks 2 laps before the end of heat 3.

Green flag for heat 2. Larson holds and Harvick and Elliott fight for the 2nd spot.
