2020 Nascar - The End

Well, this is it for 2020. After months without racing because of COVID-19 and an aggressive schedule to make up for lost time, the 2020 season finishes on time this Sunday. At Martinsville the final 4 for each series was whittled down from the remaining playoff drivers. Last week in Cup, Kevin Harvick was eliminated and Chase Elliott advanced to race for the championship with the win, along with Joey Logono, Denny Hamlin and Brad Keselovski. Here is where the four will line up at the start;



The betting odds to win on Sunday, Harvick is the favorite;



Sunday is also the last race for Jimmie Johnson, who is retiring to begin a 2nd career driving an IndyCar for Ganassi and the last Cup race for Clint Bowyer, who leaves his car seat to sit in the Fox broadcast booth.

• Dale Jr. has a new job. He is joining iRacing as an executive director.
• Ford clinched the 2020 Manufacturers Championship at Martinsville.
• If Chase Elliott wins the championship on Sunday, his jack man should get nice bonus.
• Nascar is looking into radio chatter at Gibbs about telling Jones not to pass teammate Hamlin to keep the #11 above the cut line last Sunday.
• Nascar is also explaining why the Elliott penalty was rescinded when his jack man went over the wall early, but recovered in time to jump back on the wall before Elliott got to the pit.
• Martinsville penalties - Only loose or missing lugnuts in Cup and X-Men
• TV ratings - A 1.65 rating and 2.740 million viewers (including streaming) for Sunday's NASCAR Cup race at Martinsville. The 35th race last year at Phoenix on NBC was 1.63, 2.588M viewers with streaming added.
