I'm trying to get an idea of what people are paying for 'custom' covers for their boats? Mine lives in the garage so I don't need one for storage, but I do want one for towing anywhere but the local lake which is about 30 minutes away.

Best price I've seen online from a reputable place was ~$630. The range for local covers is $850-$1100. These are all with Sunbrella material. The local prices seem really high especially for what I need.

I just have hard time justifying those prices. Right now I'm obviously leaning towards the one I found online, but I am curious to know what you guys are paying for them.

Sure,

I understand it will be more than something I can pick up at Walmart etc... But I have seen posts where people said they've paid $4-500 bux for custom covers. I'm just wondering if that was because it was years ago, or they live some place where competition has kept prices low.. While I don't necessarily need the best cover possible, I from everything I've read Sunbrella is the material I want.

I don't know if Sunbrella is really needed for the average boat that is only for long tow's and the occasional cover while docked at a resort...

But I don't know much about the different material options - seems to me the next step down to a generic material that is still more on the higher end of quality would be ok. Now if it was going to be stored a lot outside - different story.

Just a few of my cents - since i have only used my nice cover once :) and as a dust cover in garage twice :)

I paid $800.00 for my sunbrella custom cover. It was expensive but it has served me well on long towing trips and while at the marina on vacation. My boat lives in the garage also. Since the season is getting short maybe you can get a "deal" on one.
