I would trim it before I would go with Trim Tabs, My boat is only marginally larger then yours and it handles moderate chop like a cadillac, but you could certainly add trim tabs if it makes you feel better.
I typically try to get the hull in the water in moderate chop and trim down, but if the water becomes more serious I will trim up and increase the bow angle or take the chop farther back on the hull, about the only thing I slow down for is 3'+ waves and even then only if they are continuous and not just the wake of a large yacht. I'm surprised your 235 doesn't perform better, that's a great boat.
