So I had a water issue in my gas causing both my 200hp Optimax and the above Evinrude to have problems. I've drained my forward gas tank (32-gallons) and put fresh gas in it with fuel stabilizer. The Optimax ran fine. The 15hp Evinrude ran fine too, until it got warmed up, at which time it felt like began running on one cylinder (unless it went into a limp mode) for a short time before it stalled out. After cooling for a half-hour or so it started right up, ran fine for about 5 minutes then went back into limp mode. I didn't take the cowl of the motor to check the lights on the EMM. Water was too rough for comfort to remove the cowl. A week ago, I changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, water pump, and got a portable 6-gallon tank. With fresh gas in the portable tank, after about three start-ups, the motor ran fine on muffs for approximately 1/2 hour. Also, I've added a 10 micro water/gas separator with a clear bowl. No visible water, and no other added chemicals. Any suggestions?
