200hp Merc Flushing problem

2003 Mercury 200hp

When I try to use the factory quick connect to flush the motor, it does not circulate ( not Peeing ).
When the boat is in the water, everything pee's fine.
It appears that the water does not enter the engine...............is the fitting that the hose ges to a backflow valve or something ?
It appears that I have to take the cowling apart to get to it and I don't have a manual or schematic to see what I am getting into.
Any suggestions or reccommendations would be apprciated.

I just had a similar problem. My 50 needs to be in a barrel due to the way the water tube is run im guessing.

I have new 2008 Yamaha SX210. I use it in Saltwater. I prefer to keep the boat in the water instead of trailering. Does anyone know if this JetBoat engines can be flushed while boat in water?
