2009 Nissan 8hp 4 Stroke- No Spark

Yes it is very strange. The motor is not hooked up to the boat at all. Manual start, no charging system, etc. The CDI is in perfect shape from the exterior, no cracks, etc. Just weird to me to say the least. I'm swapping CDI units with another identical motor to test.

I did solve my problem....it was the stator. I replaced it and varooom she started up to my great surprise and satisfaction.

That motor does not have a stator.
If the exciter or pulser was out of spec,, you could have your symptom.

it was one of the coils on the flywheel, can't remember which one, exciter probably...
