I have a 2009 50hp two stroke. i went fishing the other day and water was streaming out of the pee hole. I did get stuck in some shallow water and picked up some mud. on the boat ride home water stopped coming out of pee hole and the engine ran great and it did not over temp. We i got home i flushed the motor and water started to streamed out of pee hole once again. Went fishing a week later in deep water, the engine ran great in the morning and in the afternoon the water stopped once again coming out of pee hole. Went fishing the next day and ran the engine 30 minutes at a time to each spot and water was streaming out of pee hole. Went home flushed motor and boat sat for a week. Went fishing again in the morning water was coming out of pee hole and after about 5 minutes into the run the water stopped. I ran the motor all day and my engine did not over heat and my alarm did not go off. When i got home i flushed the engine and water still did not come out the pee hole. Any Suggestions why water sometimes come out of pee hole and other times it does not?

If your motor isn't overheating it must be getting a good supply of water. The tell tale just shows you that the powerhead has water getting to it (the main cooling water exits elsewhere) - Sometimes that tell tale pipe can get blocked; salt or "crunchy-bits" lurking in the powerhead water jacket.
