Okay... here I am again. From the beginning now... Engine blew a bearing last year. I rebuilt the engine. After getting it on the boat it seemed one side wasn't firing. I could disconnect the injectors on the port side and it made no difference to the engine RPM. That is now fixed I'm not %100 sure what changed. But now it runs perfect. However... when I get on plane after several seconds a warning buzzer goes off and it goes into limp mode. I connected the software and went for a ride and I see very erratic oil pressure. Also the cam phasers seems very different. One doesn't change much. The port side. And that is throwing code 72. I pumped out the engine oil it seems brownish... black... not what I would expect for basically new oil since the engine rebuild.. only have about an hour on the oil. Oil seems very thin. I am wondering if when the port side wasn't running if that put a lot of fuel in the oil?? So anyway I need to understand why I am getting code 72 and if that is related to erratic oil pressure. I see 25psi one minute.. 45 the next... then single digits!! Tomorrow it's getting a new oil filter and new 10W30. The oil level was about 1/2 way on the dip stick today before I sucked it out. I am really hoping the oil filter is just plugged from a fresh engine rebuild since a bearing went bad [ I did not have a good way to flush the engine ] and that's leading to low oil pressure which is causing the cam phaser 72 code. Anybody care to chime in on any of this?? Thanks
