I'm looking for better hole shot for wakeboarding/watersports. I'm not interested in top speed. My current aluminum prop (that came with the boat) sucks! The boat lags, has little power, and takes a long time to plane when there is 4 or 5 people in the boat. I can feel the boat has enough power when I get on plane. But hole shot sucks.

I want to upgrade to a stainless prop. Anyone have any suggestions on the pitch? Should I stay at 19 or go lower maybe 17?

Re: 2007 Q7 prop ?

post this over at the prop forum under general boating activities. They are going to ask a lot of questions so read the sticky's at the top first. Welcome to the forum !!

BTW: I don't know your setup but look in my signature. Mine is great for 4-5 people and I top out at around 50mph with a great hole shot and am turning about 5000 rpm.

Re: 2007 Q7 prop ?

I run a 21 pitch Highfive, which is perfect on the rpm's, you could also run a 19p highfive, and get a little better hole shot, but it might turn 1-200 rpm to much at the top it will be close to the 5k rpm limit. I believe my prop runs 4850-4900 rpms. I love my highfive, for skiing, tubing, and just all around playing I don't think you can beat it. My boat will pull me up salom, with 8 people in the boat.

Re: 2007 Q7 prop ?

is that highfive 4 or 3 blade?

A highfive is actually a five blade prop. I'm considering getting a 19p H5 prop for my Tahoe Q4 this season for the same reasons... better hole shot for water sports.
