I had to replace my top shaft on my trolling motor and I got everything put back together but the steering cables wont tighten up. I had replaced a part several months ago and didnt have a problem with it. I backed the tension adjustment screw as far out as it would come out when I disassembled it. I tightened it all the way down and it looks like it may have atleast an inch of slack in it. Is there another way to tighten it up even more.
