Hello,
I am having trouble with my 250 hpdi and would like some help trouble shooting the issue. The engine has 220 hours on it, fuel filters and spark plugs changed within 30 hours. The motor starts perfect and will idle in neutral around 700 rpm for ever,....the problem starts when i put it in gear. The rpm's drop to 500 and it will start to die, it will slowly rev but normally dies around 1000 rpm when i try to go. If i ease into the throttle it will some times make it to 1400 rpm and clear up and run like a top. From 1400-5700 rpm it runs great,....if i can get it to 1200-1400 rpm but that is rough to do. It seems to help if i trim the prop almost out of the water and start revving it slowly trimming down as i go. This weekend I checked and adjusted the TPS,....was set at .595v I bumped it to .625v,...no change. I also installed 2 new low pressure pumps thinking they may be leaking,...no change. One thing I have noticed is whenever I pull any of the spark plugs (which has been often here lately), they are wet with fuel,...not sure if they should be? Once it reaches operating RPM it runs fine until I either pull it out of gear or turn the ignition off.
.
Thanks guys!!!
