I have not had the motor in the water for 5 years. What do I need to do to service it before this summer ? I was told the water impeller may be brittle Is that true ?

Many folks replace impellers about 1 day too late.-----Many expensive lessons have been learned.

Will add, before starting the motor up, remove all spark plugs, trim motor to sit fully horizontal and squirt a small dosis of say 100:1 fuel/ 2 stroke oil, fogging oil, whatever lubricates well on each cylinder and rotate the motor for some seconds. You don't want to start any motor with dry pistons/pistons rings sitting for such long time...
