2006 Mercury 60 efi same as Yamaha?

I have a 2006Mercury 60 efi 4 stroke bigfoot, I need to know if a Yamaha 60 4 stroke driveshaft housing is the same? any way of finding out

I believe Yamaha only made the powerhead.

Mercury manufactured the 40-50-60 powerheads in Fon du Lac starting with the 2001 model year. They were Yamahas prior to that. Around 2005 Mercury built their first plant in China. Sometime after this the manufacture of these outboards moved to China but I don't really know what year that happened. Your motor should have a sticker on it somewhere that says Made in China or Made in USA.
