I have a 06 merc 15hp 4stroke short shaft. . One month ago i got stuck in the water when ever it started it rev's really high then shut down. I got home cleaned the carb/ changed coil (thought it had to do with spark for some reason) changed fuel line and bulb an even changed the diaphragm in the fuel pump. But i cannot get the engine to run smooth on muffs. It vibrates super hard and i hear it running rough. It does run though. I checked compression and i got 187 top and 185 bottom cyl. Checked fuel lines and filter. What can it possibly be? can it be timing? why would timing get messed up?
