I am currently running a 26 Pitch prop on my ZX200 Skeeter with a 200HP HPDI. The boat runs 61MPH at WOT fully loaded turning 5400 RPM. My buddy has the exact same boat and motor and runs 67-68 with a 25 Pitch prop. I have a Suzuki 27 Pitch prop that fits my HPDI. I can get the 67 MPH but my RPMs drop to 5000-5100. Is it ok to run this prop. RPMs seem low but performance is good. Center of prop is 2.75 " below bottom of hull.

If the tach is accurate, either prop is within the Engine's WOT Range. I can't see a 6 mph increase happening along with a 300-400 rpm drop from a 1" increase in pitch. The numbers provided, aren't adding up

I’m going to guess you have a 4 blade 26” trophy/rev4 or similar. Your buddy has a 25” different prop.
Or his engine height is different, or conditions were different.
Tiny things can make a difference to things at this end of the speed. Fuel, wind, hull condition and health of the engine/plugs/ignition etc etc.
Back to props quickly. Sometimes if you can turn more rpms (with smaller pitch)…you can go quicker. Depending on the hull. Usually gives you more lift or let’s the prop do what it does best.
