the 2013 survey shows an engine serial number of OW383495. doesn't show a drive number.

Got the report back. nothing bad. the only things mentioned were the CO detector wasn't working, bellows need replaced soon, anodes need replaced ASAP, and the note on the fresh water and AC not working. he also suggested a more thorough engine inspection to figure out the rough idle/stalling but his thoughts were also that the fuel may be bad. there were a few other things like little knicks in the hull, changing outdrive fluids, etc.

haven't heard from the seller but went to the shop today and he said they were there yesterday pulling the strainers and filters and they had mold in them. they were completely empty before we put it in the water, meaning no water or pink stuff. so thinking maybe the water and AC lines may be plugged from this stuff? the sellers don't want to spend any money on it so i'm thinking they are going to try to fix it themselves. i'm ok with them knocking some off and i can fix it myself but i haven't heard from them yet. the shop mentioned to them yesterday that its a good idea to drain the tank and they seemed to agree so see if they do that. i may go ahead and have the shop do a compression test just for peace of mind

I saw a 2004 online for sale with the same engine. thats the one in the pic above. same model boat, just 2 years older.

It's just odd to see for a 2006, especially a Crownline. Even my 96 has EFI.

it has TKS (turn key start). not real sure what that means but from what i heard it is basically an electric choke?

Kind of like an electronic choke. It richens it just like a choke would and then turns off when warm.

TKS... Turn Key Start. It supposedly allows you to start the engine without having to prime it, like the old choke systems.

Nice idea, but like a lot of Merc's ideas, poorly executed. The TKS carb had a few issues, and the electrical side is a weak design. Too many problems cascade when things start going wrong. ...

Quite a few people ditch the 2bbl TKS and fit a 4bbl manifold and carb, such as an Edelbrock 1409.

Thanks for the heads up...lol. Hopefully I don't have to go that route.
