I have a new to me 2006 mercury F 9.9 EL serial number 0R068414. The carb was full of gelled gas and when I took it off to clean it someone had been in there before with an impact or very strong mitts. Several screw heads were damaged and or the wrong type. The main jet screw head was completely snapped off. I was able to clean it up and the motor runs ok but it leaks badly. I would like to replace it but it seems the carb is discontinued and I can't find a Mercury one. Does anyone know a good reliable replacement?

If you do get it running then store motor with carburetor EMPTY.------An empty carburetor does not gum up.

Post pics of said motor and carb, if your motor happens to be a 4 stroke 9.9 HP rebadged Tohatsu model an OEM carb will surely cost much less than what Merc usually asks for...
