Help!
Recently brought a 70 horse yamaha back to life with new parts and elbow grease. This thing runs so great. Turns over on the slightest flick of the switch and just hums at idle. only problem I have is that it cant stand a load (all the time). Sometimes I can coax it up on a plane but it takes finess and timing. Everything fuel related checks out. I went through the carbs already and they were like new, now clean and new. I replaced the relays, fuel pump, new plugs gapped properly, starter accelerator, wiring harness, ignition switch, coils for cylinders 2 and 3, and cleaned everything thoroughly. All of these parts had been stolen from the motor before i got it. Compression even on all Cylinders. It looks like only Cylinder one is doing anything. I warmed the motor up on the earmuffs, removed the #2 plug wire and there was no change at all in the RPM's. Did the same to the #3 plug and no change. Removed #1 and the motor shuts right off. I am told it could be the stator or the CDI. Looking for insight on where to go from here. I live in the bahamas and dont have access to a manual but am familiar with 2 stroke systems. Any help would be appreciated.
