I hit a log the other day and my speedometer stop working. I had a piece of wood in the notch at the foot. I got it out but still don't work. Is there away to blow it out or can you please tell me what to look for? Thanks, Steve

you might take a small drill bit and drill it out.

I had the same problem. I just pushed the little bit of wood into the hole with a really small allen wrench. Speedo works now and is as accurate as it was before (3-5 mph off).

If you chose to dislodge any debre from your speedo pickup first you need to locate where the hose connects to the drive . With the drive full up just inside the back of the drive is a quick disconnect. It has a spring loaded button just depress and pull connection apart , you don't want the trash to get in this hose. You can now use an air compressor to blow thru the hole in the drive. You can also feel where you took the hose loose for air blowing thru. hook hose back up.

Where is the speedometer sensor located? Mine doesn't work either and I'd like to clean it out with a paper clip too. Is it achievable while the boat is in the water? I've got a 2006 Q4 SF 4.3L

On the back side of the drive just above the round part oppisite the prop you can feel a small notch that will be your speedo pickup.Would not advise drilling out , a simple paper clip will do
