Needs some advice. New to boating and just refurbished this tritoon. Engine seems solid but it’s spitting oil out of the starboard side of the engine, I can’t see exactly where it’s coming from but looks lower than the valve cover and higher than the oil pan. Read some posts that it could be a non used dip stick hole? My dip stick is on the port side.
Anyone else seen this issue? I’m going to take the exhaust manifold off and out of the way to get in there better but need advice. Thanks

Right above the level of the oil pan on the block is where the automotive dipstick would be, on marine engines this is plugged with a rubber plug, if that is missing or leaking that could cause your problem.

Yup found it. I put a rubber plug in there covered in JB weld. Hopefully it will hold, searched the web for a part and found Mercury-Mercruiser 19-807861 HOLE PLUG. Not sure if that’s the right one or not but ordered it anyway incase this rubber piece won’t hold.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,....... There's no pressure there, just the splash factor,......

I imagine that Merc branded rubber plug is priced as gold plated,.....

no need to buy at Mercury's inflated prices, you can also find them at Summit Racing or Jeg's

every NAPA will have a plug for an SBC dipstick hole.
