And what is there in an engine to wear the end gap? nothing. The combustion chamber doesn't change temps from the first time an engine is started until it is shut off. The piston and cylinder walls(block) do increase in temp but NOT the combustion chamber. But seeing as you know everything this conversation is going no where. Have a good day Mr. Know-it-all

​One other thing I will add is how do the piston and cylinder wall temp NOT effect the combustion as they ARE the are part combustion chamber. 1 more thing is HOW is the block getting hotter as the primary source of heat in a motor is the combustion process. Motors not running generally do not produce heat.

Here is an easy test disconnect the ignition and let the motor spin for 5 minutes and tell me how hot the motor got With water running through it.
