This Chaparral Signature 240 is new to me, and has about 250 hours on it. It seems like the raw water impeller can be changed fairly easily, but I have no experience with this engine. I have the Volvo impeller kit, and an expoded view diagram I found at www.dougrussell.com from their parts catalog.
I would appreciate any tips I can get before I begin this project. The engine is in factory new condition, with the impeller housing / bolts still bearing the original factory paint. For example, Do I need to remove the inlet and outlet hoses before removing the housing? Is there any gasket compound needed when reinstalling the housing? Are any special tools needed to remove / replace the impeller? What lube grease (if any) needs to be applied when reinstalling the hardware? And so forth.
Thank you in advance,
Dale
