2003 Mercury 150 OptiMax Intermittent Alarm

A few weeks ago my 22' CC's outboard started sounding an intermittent alarm. We are talking random beeps at random lengths, occurring at different RPM's. I am thinking it has something to do with a loose battery connection, or a bad sensor. Any Ideas?

Do you have the warning light indicator on your dash?

What is the alarm for, and where is the alarm under the dash?
Is it a over heat alarm?
I agree with your diagnosis, check every inch of wire to and from the alarm, then test the sensor with a multi meter.
Sensors break alot more often than you would think, sensors tell the motor what to do, and your motor still runs fine,.sounds like a short/wire on a wire going into a wire connector thats almost corroded through, pull all wire connectors hard to see if they fall off.
