2003 4stroke 40hp

I saw in my repair manual that there is a restrictor ring in the intake. They are hp specific.

IF>......I put a 50hp ring in a 40hp intake.......will I get a little more out of the engine?

Also, Stainless prop on this engine??????

Probably not, but you will use more fuel...

Definitely!! S/S props are more efficient and a lot stronger. A few (uninformed) people here tell you that with a S/S prop you will damage your gears if you hit something... Total BS!!! What gets damaged is more in the lap of the gods than what material your prop is made of. I have seen the same damage inside gearcases from both ali props and S/S props.
