trying to remove sx stern drive and engine, followed directions of seloc manual niether unit will come out? What could I be missing or has anyone had this problem?
No, bought boat used this year. I screwed up on fuel pump replacement and got water in cylinders. need to pull engine, all bolts, hoses and wires disconnected. The stern drive moves about 1-1/2" and the motor about 1/2" will not separate?
Concentrate on pulling the drive first, then pull the engine. Your drive shaft apparently is stuck in the gimble bearing or hub. There is a method of using the trim rams and a block of wood placed on top of the drive that might help give you some leverage to get the drive off. It must be done slowly and carefully or damage can be done.
Have you disconnected the shift cable from the drive? I would re-install at least the aft bolts on the engine to keep it in place in case you need to use extra leverage to get the drive off.
