Thanks in advance for any inpu! New to the site.
Recently purchased a 2002 Proline with a 150 Mecr Salwater outboard.
I'm having some issues possibly with electrical failure somewheres? l was advised to test the alternator. I did test the alternator at the battery while runiing the engine. It started at a 12.8V then when uo to 13V, then I believe it peaked after a couple minutes around 14. I should have wrote the number down.

Does anyone know where the alternator is located in these pics?

And how would I test with a multimeter to see if its working properly?

Thanks again!

It's under the flywheel which is under that plastic top cover. Those voltages sound about right. Are you sure your battery is good? Did you check the battery connections?

Thanks much! Batteries are brand new. Im finding a lot of corrision within wires and lugs. Purchased a new switch Blue Sea Systems. Troubleshooting things, starting with cables as advised.
