Heck, I would install one of the many OMC electric primers I have on the shelf.----That would be a quality / permanent fix on this SUZUKI motor.

Here is my fix. Top is original wire spring (broken). Middle is the new spring (spare) and bottom is fixed plunger. Thanks for the help and we will see in spring how well it holds up.
