2002 basstracker 175 with 40Hp outboard

I searched for the name of boat and came up with nothing on forums. My question is about towing. I have searched and searched and cannot find full weight of this boat/trailer and was looking for some advice!!! I am getting a 2002 Basstracker 175 with a 40HP tracker outboard motor. Original trailer. My truck has a max tongue weight of 200lbs and a max row capacity of 2000 lbs. According to tracker sites, it seems dry weight of a new tracker weight almost 1000 lbs. just trying to get some advice on towing. I THINK I’ll be ok.

Is it the 2002 PT175?

If so, based on what Iboats has listed, it weighs a almost 1600 pounds.that is just the boat, not the engine and the trailer.

Hate to say it but if your truck only has a tow capacity of 2000 lb and max tongue weight of 200 lbs your truck is not designed or meant to tow. It’s kind of an after thought on the part of the manufacturer. Yes you can tow up to 2000 lbs but it will put a lot of stress on the drive train, suspension, brakes, tires etc. Im sure it also wouldn’t take more than a passenger or two to reach or exceed gross vehicle weight rating along with the tongue weight. You’d be better off getting an increased capacity tow vehicle and then getting a boat.
