2001 Suzuki 2 stroke firing on 3 cylinders. The engine will idle then die and does not have power to move boat. The engine will still rev above 3000 rpm in nuetral. The suzuki engine monitoring system shows no problems (overheating, low/no oil, high rev) to put the engine into a fail safe mode. I have been in a fail safe mode before and have been able to operate the boat to the max rpm allowed in fail safe mode and will idle just fine. This problem is not similar to a fail safe condition. All three cylinders on the right side of engine have no spark. Any help is appreciated.

You need to test the inputs and out puts of the CDI and ECU to see where your problem is

Thanks, it's starting to narrow down to the CDI. I'll be picking up a meter to test it this week.

mth00005, did yours loose power on one side and never came back or is it like suzuki321's problem. Mine is dead on starboard side from the get go. I ordered a meter should be here in a few days. I'll post my results.

After testing, the CDI was bad. Installed today and is running fine. Thanks for all replies.
