Ok, here's my problem...

Sunday went to put the boat in the water and it turned over a few times then acted like there wasn't enough juice in the battery. So I went home and a buddy suggested we try and jump it off( Which I found out was a bad idea)anyway the voltage regulator blew up and the gauges stopped working. So I changed the voltage regulator and charged the battery. Now the starter is just spinning, it won't jump up and catch the fly wheel and my gauges aren't working.

I just bought the boat on Saturday, everything was ok then. I think it's either 1 or 2 minor problems but I don't know much about how to fix it and everyone wants to charge an arm and a leg to look at it, plus they say it will be 2 to 3 weeks. Any suggestions?

Thanks In Advance

You may have blown more than the regulator but the spinning starter is usually a loose ground or one that is not attached. Did you check the charge on the Batt after?

I charged it over night, didn't check the charge, just assumed it had a full charge

Assuming it is not the ground on the starter, sounds like the bendix on the starter may be stuck. You can tap on it LIGHTLY while turning the key over. If it "jumps" up when you do this, you may want to go ahead and replace the whole starter.
