2001 Merc 150 Oil injection no pressure

Problem 1

Motor started BEEP BEEP.... res. was low added oil and made it back home. Pulled the tube and it was slimy so I cleaned it up like new changed the oil and cleaned the tank. Now I ran it again and is doesn't seem to be getting any pressure to the tank. Pulled the lines and there clean no a drop of oil in them.

Next I pulled the pressure hose off the tank and started the motor. No air pressure coming out of it and no suction either "which i know it should not do". Not sure what the problem is. Thinking maybe the crankcase check valve?


Problem 2. Very hard to start-

Also when starting the motor it take quite a bit of time to get it to start up. Cold motor or hot it takes cranking and cranking and priming and choke to get it to kick over. Once it's running it scoots though.


tried choking for 5sec then a mech said do it for 15 sec, I have gone up to 1 min in 10 sec intervals with the same result. Only way I have found it crack throttle a bit Prime the bulb choke for 30 secs crank for 30 secs and repeat and in 5-10 mins of that it will kick a bit and eventually start with bit of smoke and it runs clean after that.

Problem 1 Check the one-way pressure pulse fitting between the crankcase and the main oil tank, it should only allow the pressure pulses thru to the tank. Once cleaned/replaced, start the motor and run at a moderate idle with the motor oil tank cap slightly loosened until all hoses and the tank is filled to 'just' overflowing.

Problem 2 How is the starter. Minimum cranking speed is 300, as a starter and/or connections age cranking speed slows. Once nearing the minimum the motor can get 'cranky'.

Yeah there is no pressure coming out of the crank case so I think the valve is bad at this point and will replace today. The starter is turning pretty fast and the motor has less than 70 hrs on it. It sat in a garage for quite a few years and things like brand new. Thinking I may need to pull the carb off again and rebuild them entirely rather than just cleaning them. Anyone know of a carb rebuild kit on these?
