I have a 2001 Black Scorpion 330 HP in my 2001 ski Centurion and I took it out from heated winter storage for a run on the river yesterday and after about 30 minutes of driving it stalled at high speed (40 MPH). The engine was warmed up before I throttled up and the gauges (Temp. Oil pressure and alternator charging) looked fine at the time of stall. This stall happened twice, the first time I did hear a beep/alarm before the stall but not the second time. The engine started up right away following the stall and idled correctly. Is this typical of a fuel problem (Filter, cooler, water separator ?) I limped back to the dock at about 20 MPH and the boat ran fine.
The engine temp was around 175 Degrees F at time of stall.
What are your thoughts? What should I try first???

I sure would appreciate some help in troubleshooting this problem

Thanx,

Bill W

Howdy,

Anytime an engine stalls or falters at high power settings I look to fuel flow first.

A clogged filter, contaminated fuel, plugged fuel pickup screen, and plugged fuel vent usually come to mind as things to check.

Rick
