Our last boat had twin Mercruiser V6's and Bravo III drives. The boat was also 10,000 lbs. dry, 30'10 LOA with a 10'0" beam. The 2760 with twin V^'s will not be underpowered, and 5.0L engines are not needed, or even available, as Dave R. mentioned. Buy the boat and enjoy it.

It's interesting that the 2 coastal boaters (Tpenfield and I) say it's underpowered, while the lake boaters say it's fine. I guess the different conditions and concerns are the root of our differences, and the reason(s) we can't agree.

I'm a coastal boater (West) and I think it'll be fine as I indicated in my post; but maybe you weren't counting me.

Ah, well... one size never fits all, does it? :)

We had some good discussion in this post at least. OP has seemed to move on to an older inboard boat where fuel economy seems to be the critical issue.
At least this would be a good thread for another potential 2760 buyer.

My friend's Sea Ray is in the best of water conditions-- but how many of you 'coastal boaters' have taken their boat up in the air a bit? At 4400', just the lack of air for the engines to suck in more than make up for smooth hull and water. And if you're ever in my neck of the woods with your boat, go 60 miles east to Strawberry/Soldier Creek reservoir for (usually) some of the best fishing you'll find. And at 7500', you'll swear someone swapped out your engine for a squirrel cage...

I just feel like I have way more power than I need (tho I don't mind it at all!) but could stand to shed some weight.

You wouldn't shed much weight- 100 lbs per engine, which isn't all that significant in a 28'. My boat is stern heavy, too. I've been going back and forth about putting 4-blade props on it to get some stern lift. I should just get off my duff and do it.

I was thinking it would be closer to 200 each.... I've already got one 4 blade prop... need another and some hubs.... BUT my damn starboard steering shaft has started leaking soooooo .....

Dang engine has to come out again... ugh

My boat would be PERFECT if it had two more feet of beam and the trim tabs could each be a foot wider.... My engines set about 8" apart and with only a 10' beam I just can't fit enough tab back there.

Thanks for commenting... I'm back and forth right now. Priorities include EFI, Generator and fuel economy (or as much as possible).... sacrifices will have to be made on my budget.

Great information here!
I am looking at a 2001 Regal 2760 with twin Volvo's duo props. The engine compartment wouldn't open and the salesperson thought they were 5.0l's now looking on here see they are indeed 4.3l's. Now I want to know are they carbs or EFI? Previously had a 1995 258 Commodore with twin 3.0l's so I prefer smaller/mid size boats with twins.
