I am looking at a 2000 Parti-Kraft made by Godfrey Marine. It is an 18 footer with a 50 horse 4 stroke Mercury. All I have right now are some pictures. It looks like he is wanting 4500 for it. It looks to be in fair condition by the pictures.I am planning on seeing it within a couple of days. To me it seems a little high. But I really have no idea as to the value of pontoons. I am more of a f/g boat person. I may be going from a 22'6" cuddy style with a 350 to this one. I am looking for something a little more gas friendly. Does this company produce a good rig? I know whaIMG_9462_zpsa4a55562.jpgt to look for on the o/b. What should I look for on the craft. Any opinions are appreciated.IMG_2099_zps85db8f31.jpg

That is definitely to much money. It looks like the motor is rather new from the pic. I would offer 2 grand.

What kind of fuel usage should I expect?

5 to 6 gallons per hour at wide open throttle. Don't expect much more than 20 mph if you can go that fast.

Good Luck.

i own a 24ft suncruser bimini with a 50 hp johnson with carburaters and i can cruse all day on a 12 gallon tank as long as you use it for what its made for it will give you hours of fun for aroung 60 dollars a day out .pull up to your favorite cove and fish the day away or swim.
its a whole nother animal than a speed boat that bigfoot is efi as well mine is a dual carb you should get even better milage out of it
4500 is not alot to pay for it either it looks to be well maintained with seats and carpet in fair condition

Re: 2000 parti kraft rough estimate of value

I sold my '96 parti kraft, 20 foot with a 40hp Force earlier this spring for 6300. ...However it was in excellent condition for a 17 year old boat. Carpet worn but clean, upholstery nearly new condition, deck in good shape, and a good trailer with new tires. The boat you pictured is overpriced in my opinion. Worn out furniture and carpet means lots of money and work for somebody. My rule of thumb is that if a boat (or car) looks that bad with what you can see, then it has not been taken care of in all other aspects either. In my opinion you can expect wiring issues, poorly maintained motor, etc... The up side is the motor is a four stroke and that means you will sip the gas, quieter ride, and all around better performance.

Well I went and looked at it yesterday. I would rate it as being in fair condition. The motor looks really good, although we didnt run it at all, or a compression check. The toons are dent free and look good. The deck looks good except for the corners. The wood here is pretty dark, but it isnt soft yet. The carpet in the corners has moss growing in it. Obviously the corners must stay pretty wet. The motor is a carbed 4 stroke. It does have 4 carbs. I havent really looked at any others like this so I cant compare prices. But I dont think this is an option for me.

$4500 seems reasonable to me, especially considering the newer motor. I had an eighteen footer with a fifty horse Yammy. I forget exactly what our WOT speed was, but it was well above the twenty MPH Screwball guesstimated. It was a good little barge, but it didn't take us long to outgrow it.

Re: 2000 parti kraft rough estimate of value

We have a 18' Part Kraft with a 40 HP Honda. The boat, motor, trailer, ran me 3500 I think and I probably have put another grand into it. The boat is solidly built. One thing I have a problem with is the motor steering arm hits the hull when turned sharp right. It must have been re motored in 06. This is my first toon so I can't compare it to others. But we have been more than happy with it. I have clocked it at 15 via gps once. Mostly its around 12-13. Can't find a better prop and I only get 4500 RPMs out of it.

4500 @ WOT seems awfully low, Paul. Is that within the recommended RPM band? Something doesn't sound right.

Not really the motor should put out 6500 at WOT. But there are no better props available for the honda that I have found from my prop guy and from Michigan Prop. I even tried lowering the motor, and raising it. It is in the best position. I wish I could get at least 6000 out of it but have to settle for the 4500. I'm not concerned with speed but I'd like the motor to run at peak.

Have you had the motor checked out? 2k under max RPMs isn't a prop issue. Something's wrong.

My mechanic has looked at it two or three times. Says it runs right. It does run well. He came well recommended. I suppose it could be a bad tach?

Yeah, maybe so. Something is definitely amiss.
