So I went to test drive this boat a couple weeks ago and all went great until we were loading the boat onto the trailer. To make a long story short, the guy throttled up to push the boat onto the trailer then slammed it in reverse which caused the throttle cable to kick out of place. When further examining what had happened, the boat would no longer engage into reverse. Obviously I didn't buy the boat at that time. Now the guy says the lower unit was out, so he ordered a new lower unit and is going to put it on for me if I'm still interested in buying it. The new lower unit has a 3 year warranty and if everything works once it's on I'd like to buy the boat. What do you guys think? Looking for advice before I spend the money on this boat. I don't want to end up working on this boat like I did my last one. Will the new lower unit be dependable? I'm thinking it is a new aftermarket lower unit because he got it for the same price as the remanufactured ones I had looked at. I'm open for input. Thank you in advance!
