I need help! I have a 2000 Johnson 225 outboard. A couple of weeks ago I changed the fuel/water seperater filter. Started the engine, let it run 10-15 minutes and all was fine. I put it in the water last weekend, started it at the dock, idled fine, got 200 yards from the dock and it died..like it ran out of gas. I had just put 20 gallons of fuel in prior to getting to the dock. It would crank but only idle. If I tried to advance the throttle it would die. When I got it home and started it it would only run for about 10 seconds and die plus the primer ball would get soft. I did find a small hose that was shooting out fuel located after the VRO2 pump(going towards the carbs)...fixed it but didn't help. Re-checked the fuel/water seperater filter and made sure it was installed properly. Replaced fuel filter and that did nothing. What do I do next?
