Everything runs great and then it will randomly just drop in rpms. If I take it off plane it sounds rough at an idle and will not come out of the hole. It will stay on plane however, it just runs much slower and at lower rpms. Then it starts running properly again, but it will evetually do it again.

Took it to my mechanic and he lake tested it twice and decided it was the power pack. Replaced the power pack and it still has the same problem.

Any ideas?

Are you overcharging 14+volts?? How many rpm do you drop?? Could be a shift interupter switch out of adjustment. If overcharging a bad regulator. If not would more likely lean toward a stator or timer base going bad. You need a timing lite and when engine acts up see what cylinders are effected.
