I purchased a 2000 Glastron GX 185sf that is powered by a Johnson 130 2 stroke, same year. I was recommended to remove the VRO. So I add the oil myself no big deal. The engine runs pretty good except when I driving at a low idle it seems a little rough, when I accelerate it's fine. The other thing is how can I get better fuel efficiency. The plugs are new but I think it can do better I'm not racing around the bay in fact if anything I putt putt more and only get on it where permitted. My neighbor has a 4 stroke and gets great mileage. I read that the 4 strokes are more efficient, but I wanted to know if there is anything I can do?

Your 130 HP will use around 13 gallons per hour at wide open throttle. Significantly less at lower RPM.
You can not measure outboards in MPG due to water conditions and currents etc.
A good basic health check will let you know how healthy your motor is.
Compression
Spark
Fuel delivery
Spark plug condition
Post your results and go from there.
