2000 Johnson 115 missing bad

this boat will start and seems to run decent up until about 2800 rpms or so when you get in throttle to plane out then it start cutting out or missing real bad. i changed the spark plugs and cleaned a cone shaped clear mesh fuel filter and its still missing terrible. Could this be bad fuel or water in the fuel?

If idling good, then I suspect highspeed circuit is plugged up. Clean carb/s. post back and let us know how you make out!

i will do that... for cleaning the carb would you recommend Sea Foam?

Before you rip in to the carb/s. Take a squirt bottle with fuel/oil mix. When engine starts acting up, spray some fuel in to the carb/s and see if it it makes a noticeable change. If it improves, high speed circuit plugged up. If it want to fall bad on it's face then there is another issue. Try first and post back. If it does improve considerably, Overhaul carb/s in berryman's carb and parts cleaner. I prefer to soak parts for 24hrs. Rinse with fresh water and blowdry with compressed air.
