2000 50hp johnson question

i have a johnson 50 hp motor and i was wondering if can disconnect the harnest and still run it because i think my power pack and rectifiar might be bad but the only way to know for sure is to disconnect the harnest to make sure the problem is not there so if anyone has any advice i would appreciate it thanks

Hook an amp meter in series on the red wire from the rectifier. If no charge, Do an ohm's check on rectifier, and stator. Don't disconnect the harness. Make sure all connection's are clean, and tight. Don't use wing nut's on the battery connector's.

i already have fire just loss of power when i accellerate oh and do you know whats the vro pump fuel pressure
